St Thomas More History - I received this interesting email. Does Anyone Remember John? Hi Father Clive, I was visiting the Westminster Cathedral website and decided to search for my old haunts in Highbury and closer to my old home in Portland Rise. My name is John O’Brien and it was my father Joseph, (or Joe, as he was known locally), who owned the Portland Hotel and, after it was sold, was the first Warden of the Catholic International Students Hostel, as it then became. I remember the first St. Thomas More Services in a basement room just off Adolphus Road and then, much later, visiting the new chapel in Henry Road. It is wonderful to know your Parish is still flourishing. God Bless, John
